Cooking Matters<\/h1>\n

Muhlenberg County Health Department partners with the national nonprofit Share Our Strength to offer Cooking Matters\u00ae in Muhlenberg County.\u00a0 <\/span>Cooking Matters teaches families at risk of hunger how to get more food for their money and better nourishment from those foods.\u00a0 <\/span>Our staff, in collaboration with Owensboro Health, Muhlenberg Community Hospital and the UK Cooperative Extension office provide our combined culinary and nutrition expertise during our six-week cooking and nutrition courses.\u00a0 <\/span>We also offer hour-long Shopping Matters\u00ae grocery store tours.\u00a0 <\/span>During the tour, participants learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in delicious and healthy ways. Cooking Matters is nationally sponsored by both ConAgra Foods\u00ae Foundation and Walmart.\u00a0 <\/span>Funding for this program is provided by Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital and the Felix Martin Foundation.\u00a0 <\/span>https:\/\/cookingmatters.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n
