Meet the Muhlenberg County Health Department Director
Rebecca Hinrichs Keith has enjoyed the privilege of providing services for the Muhlenberg County Health Department since 1991 and was also the first Nurse Practitioner in Muhlenberg County. She accepted the additional responsibility as Public Health Director on July 23, 2012. She and her husband, Dr. Willard Keith, made this beautiful place their home in 1977 and all three of their children were born and raised here. Although born in Augusta, Georgia, she was raised primarily in St. Louis, MO and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Valparaiso University in 1971 and Master’s degree in nursing at Vanderbilt University in 1990. She also completed Family Nurse Practitioners certification at Vanderbilt University and Colposcopy certification at Emory University. Ms. Keith is proud that she was able to participate in developing the Muhlenberg County Rails-To-Trails which continues to play an important part in the health maintenance of the citizens of Muhlenberg County. Her favorite hobbies include cycling the trail and flying. She also serves on the Muhlenberg County Airport Board.
Ms. Keith brings over 25 years of experience in health and wellness in the public health setting. She wears many hats at the health department and continues to serve as APRN by seeing patients as well as directing the daily functions of the health department. She looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Muhlenberg County.
